The Pieve San Sebastiano Farm was created by Prof. Giuseppe Ragnotti, the current owner's grandfather, at the end of the 19th century. Professor of Anatomy at the University of Perugia, he always cultivated a great passion for agriculture so much so that in the second part of his life he devoted himself completely to it, producing wine and olive oil of the highest quality.
The extra-virgin olive oil produced by its mill received great consideration, as witnessed by numerous prizes and awards, among which the Gold Medal for olive oil at the International Sample Exhibition of Foligno in 1902 and the Diploma of Labor Merit. in the production of fine olive oils from 1913.
From the vineyards, which extend for about nine hectares, various types of wines are produced, all of which can be tasted during the stay at the Relais Casamassima.
All farm's products can be purchased at the Relais or ordered via email.
The rooms were restored in 2011, in full respect of the original structure.
The rooms of the relais are all designed in detail with sober elegance, and the skillful play of colors makes each corner of the unique structure worthy of a small Bed and Breakfast de Charme, with three spacious Suites, a Junior Suite and a refined Deluxe Room, all elegantly furnished.
Breakfast is served outdoors in good weather or in a bright room, which was once used as a greenhouse. The old stable is now a library full of books on Perugia and Umbria, available to guests who want to discover and deepen their knowledge of this area.
From the park which surrounds the entire property and from the small private swimming pool the view sweeps pleasantly between the olive groves and vineyards of the Agricultural Company, which has always been part of the agritourism activity.
Added value is the attentive and cordial hospitality of the owners, lovers of nature but also of art and music, whose reception has the effect of a relaxing "feeling at home".
The Relais Casamassima is also a location for the celebration of civil weddings on the spot; it can host receptions, birthday parties, dinners or lunches by reservation, tastings of olive oil, wine and typical products, as well as regional cooking courses.
